Travel
On Sunday, I’m off to Vancouver, British Columbia up in Canada for a business trip. Luckily for me, I’ll have the chance to meet up with Nathan of The Photon Fantastic and Triple Exposure. I’ve been to Vancouver before, and I think it’s a beautiful city, but this will be my first time with a decent camera, so I’m excited to get some good photos of it. I’m...

People
I’ve been really enjoying taking photos of people lately, and I think this is one place where Kodak Portra film really shines. Anyway, it’s interesting to me just to look at details of how people pose for photos, what kinds of things they do, or even just look at details of their expressions when they weren’t expecting a photo to be taken or whatever. People are pretty...

And the winner is....
Before I announce the winner, I just wanted to say a few things about each of these photos. This first one, which was the most popular, is the smallest street in Vilnius. Actually, currently it’s enclosed in a building’s courtyard, but as you walk along it, there are doors and windows and you can see in what are now the back windows of shops that open on the other side now. In the part...

Nikon FG-20
Well, I got my first roll of film back from the Nikon FG-20, using the Tamron 70-210mm lens that was with the camera my doctor gave me, and the results turned out pretty well. I used Kodak Portra 400NC film, for a number of different types of shots. I’ve got another roll in the camera now which I might finish off today, and I played with the lens a little more on that roll, making use of the...

We all move somehow
I haven’t mentioned it specifically on this blog yet, but probably 90% of my photography happens just in the course of my going places I would be going anyway - to work, to the store, out to eat, to the movies, etc. That is, I don’t really leave the house just in order to take photos very often. The reason this is possible for me, is this little machine here:
