Disabling "reply"
I’m thinking I’m going to disable “reply” on the blog, simply because if someone comments, I like to be able to reply back to them. I think Disqus is a pretty nice system for comments, so I hope that you all will still use that, as I want to have interaction on the blog, but I find myself often frustrated that I can’t reply to a “reply”. Let me know if you...

Focused attention
It amazes me sometimes what things show up in my photos that I had no idea were there when I was taking them - sometimes as extreme as a big branch across the photo, or a street sign partly in front of what I was photographing - that I simply didn’t see when I was taking the shot, because my focus was on whatever I was focusing on :)

A couple of projects
I also write a blog about biking in Portland, over at Portlandize. Valentine's Day
To celebrate that good old February 14th, here is my beautiful wife of (going on) nine years. While she may not think me posting photos of her on the internet is all that romantic, I think she’s absolutely gorgeous, and I can’t say how glad I am that she’s my wife (for many, many reasons). I look forward to the rest of my life, knowing it will be with her.

Get ready....
Here come my favorite B&W photos from Vancouver, which will wrap up my trip, and then back to the regularly scheduled Portland photos :) Click on the photos for the larger version on flickr. Cheers!

Photographing Strangers
While I was with Nathan in Vancouver, we were talking about how we are kind of shy of taking photos of people on the street as they’re passing by, so I decided to challenge myself a little bit while I was there and actually do it a bit more. A number of the shots didn’t really turn out the way I wanted, and I realized it can be hard getting the focus on the right person(s) while...
